New Policy Brief Addresses Asthma and Smoke-Free Public Places

Molly Phillips (graduate student in Public Health and Social Work at The University of Michigan) recently completed a study focused on children’s asthma in the Mississippi Delta. Additionally, her work explores people’s attitudes about policies for smoke-free public places. The Delta Rural Poll Policy Brief is available electronically (M Phillips – asthma and smoke-free policy).

Molly completed an internship this summer as a Research Fellow with the Institute for Community-Based Research. She divided her time between needs assessment and planning work in partnership with the School-Based Asthma Management Program (Delta State University Center for Community and Economic Development) and evaluation of the Tougaloo College/Delta Health Partners Healthy Start Program.
