John Green Speaks at the Annual Meeting of the Mississippi Association of Cooperatives

John Green spoke at the 40th annual meeting of the Mississippi Association of Cooperatives (MAC) held in Jackson on March 17, 2012. His talk was entitled, “The Status of African Americans in the Rural United States.”

MAC has been a long standing partner of the Institute. In fact, the Institute worked with MAC on evaluation of a community food security project as early as 2002. Before that, John worked with MAC and several of its member organizations for his dissertation research. More recently, several Institute members – led by Anna Kleiner – worked with the organization on a Rural Coalition initiative to identify innovative strategies to serve minority farmers.
