The University of Mississippi Center for Population Studies urges leaders and the general public alike to better understand population characteristics, dynamics, and the connections between population, development, health, and sustainability.
As part of its work concerning reproductive health and population, the Center for Population Studies – through its Institute for Community-Based Research – is involved in a consortium investigating the social factors associated with pre-term birth and other poor birth outcomes.
Additionally, through its State Data Center of Mississippi, the Center for Population Studies provides training for people to access and utilize demographic data from the Decennial Census and the American Community Survey.
