A collaborative initiative including individuals and organizations from around the United States and even globally, the Institute for Community-Based Research (ICBR) is currently housed at the Center for Population Studies (Department of Sociology and Anthropology at The University of Mississippi).
The ICBR provides an avenue through which students are able to collaborate with faculty and nonprofit organizations to engage in timely and meaningful research.
Affiliated faculty and graduate students work primarily with membership-based community groups (including nonprofit organizations and cooperatives) in Mississippi as well as with other organizations in the region and country. Partners must demonstrate a commitment to a process of active collaboration as they seek solutions to community problems.
